Give in

Giving up control,

Feels like losing the last card I’ve got.

Feels like I am giving up on myself,

Like I have got nothing to hold onto anymore,

Like I am lost in the ocean.

But what if,

It’s about resting in His love,

What if it’s about sitting in the passenger seat and not panicking,

What if it’s about giving up the need to worry, along with the need to control,

What if it’s so much more than losing,

What if it’s about owning the peace of Christ and actually standing on it rock solid.

Oh My Soul!

You worry so much about what you would lose,

If you let go.

Did you wonder what you would gain by doing nothing but giving up?

Giving up the need to control.

The peace, the not-having-to-figure-it-out,

The joys of taking it one day at a time.

Give in Child,

Your Father knows best.

And He is a good Father,

No harm will ever befall you.

For if you let your life go for my sake and for the sake of the gospel, you will continually experience true life. But if you choose to keep your life for yourself, you will forfeit what you try to keep.
