Prayer is a discipline, Just like fitness, eating healthy and waking up at 5 am. It is a “discipline”. Highly desirable when seen in another, And difficult in oneself at first, You fail a couple times before you get it right. Like I said, a discipline. Prayer is a discipline, That requires practice, Lots and lots of practice. Prayer also requires a teacher, And no, Not your pastor or parent, Although you could learn a little bit from them, But the only teacher for this discipline is the Holy Spirit. Prayer is a discipline, And once you have trained your soul to pray, The gates of hell won’t stand a chance. There will be resistance, There will be pain, Expect tribulation, I say, But remember, to the one who overcomes is given the crown of life, Not the one who tried to overcome. And stop not until the discipline becomes a delight! Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is valuable in every way, because it promises life both for the present and for the future.
1 Timothy 4:8 GNB https://bible.com/bible/296/1ti.4.8.GNB Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.
